EMMINVEST promotes discussion on co-investment

EMMINVEST promotes discussion on co-investment The last of three workshops for project investors of EMMINVEST project held on last July 3, 2013 in Lisbon, in the same location of Future Network and Mobile Summit 2013. One of the goals of EMMINVEST, funded by the European Commission, is to improve access to finance and investment by SMEs in industries like Mobile and Mobility. An important part of the project is to evaluate, develop and test mechanisms for co-investment across borders, for the benefit of businesses and investors.
After organizing similar events in Sofia and Barcelona, SPI invited investors and key stakeholders to gather in Lisbon, aiming to discuss the design of a potential mechanism for co-investment across borders. The workshop was attended by representatives of different types of entities, such as venture capital firms and credit institutions (Caixa Capital, Orey Financial), business angel networks (EBAN and APBA), corporate investors (Nokia Siemens Networks, Novabase Capital), and representatives of governmental financial mechanisms (COMPETE Business Angels).
It was presented the preliminary assessment conducted by EMMINVEST to different models of co-financing, a study based on interviews carried out to relevant investors across Europe. The workshop allowed the discussion of suggestions for strengthening existing sources of funding, the potential benefits of complementary mechanism EMMINVEST co-investment and the mechanisms by which it can be implemented.
The agenda of the event can be found at: http://web.spi.pt/emminvest/programme_lisbon.pdf
The project is framed in EMMINVEST EMMIA initiative (European Mobile & Mobility Industries Alliance - http://www.mobilise-europe.mobi/emminvest/).
