In 1980, the Salsicharia Estremocense Ltd started its activity.
We are an innovative company, certified according to NP EN ISO 9001:2008, which offers selected products of superior quality, as a guarantee of a safe, healthy and balanced. Given the dynamic entrepreneurial, we were given the status of SME Leader.
Currently we have 120 employees who have at their disposal the most modern equipment to carry on its business, and about 1,000 customers, distributed within a radius of 100 km, as well as in the region of Lisbon and Santarem.
SEL pioneered the revival of the stuffed pork of Alentejo breed. We have the highest quality fresh, smoked and deep-frozen, which distributes throughout the Alentejo and neighborhoods. With a performance of 1000 tons of ultra-fresh, frozen, 770 tons of smoked with an annual turnover of 10 million euros.
For the Black Pig, this is fed acorns, having a meat juicier, tastier and with a more intense aroma. Its fat rich in oleic acid containing similar characteristics to the oil. It has nutritional properties and promotes cholesterol lowering.
In the interest of all the "Taste of the Alentejo to know", and all the features of a traditional product, as well as to achieve better quality control of them made the SEL shares acquired noMatadouro Regional Alentejo, situated in the beautiful village Sousel and certified by Lloyd's in accordance with ISO 9001.
SEL currently holds 28% of Regional Abattoir of Alto Alentejo, also known as MATSEL and is in charge of all the slaughter of pigs.
The SEL has won the prize "The Flavor of the Year 2010" with their best products Pork.
