The mining activity in Portugal EDM is the main company responsible for the management of the portuguese mining activity, one of the cornerstones of its GDP and exports. From the north to the south of the country, different materials are extracted, like copper, tungsten and raw salt among others. EDM also oversees the environmental legacy of deactivated mines, constantly monitoring its impact on the environment and population.
